Re: KZ440 First build

Have a look at this website: http://www.metal-finishing-uk.co.uk/ These are the guys that do our powder coating and they have some pretty groovy effects. Check out the car alloy wheels in the slide show at the top of the opening pages to see what I mean but look at the gallery too. If there is a colour you like let me know and I'll get the manufacturers codes for you. I really like the 'Shadow Chrome'. That would look fantastic against a polished outer rim.

Re: KZ440 First build

That looks like some great work, its hard to say what color i like by just looking at pics on my comp. i'd like something deeper than a gunmetal.

and im thinking matt, or satin black

Re: KZ440 First build

Shadow chrome is black but it changes depending on how the light hits it. You want samples of anything just shout?

Re: KZ440 First build

Not to doubt you .. but are you sure this is a kz440 frame? The frame you have on this bike looks like a kz400 frame or a heavily modified kz440 frame.

KZ440 motors into a 400 frame has been done.

You say the previous owner did some hack work on it? This is what I've known most kz440 frames to look like..

Here is a kz400 frame for comparision:

Yup, I'm not sure what the PO did. I wish i could tell you what the frame is, my thoughts were that its a KZ440B as it has a 440A motor in it.

The guy who did the rearloop said there was some pretty dodgy fab work done on the rear of the frame.

So i guess one thing we know is it's not a 440A frame

Re: KZ440 First build

Could be this, as it had the same tank, KZ440-C2

Re: KZ440 First build

Did a mock up of the electrics tray and seatpan, the last picture is of the seat pan and i have the cut outs in there so if any of the electrics are sitting high there is a little room to play with that it can pull up on the seat padding.

All so not sure if i will mount the battery that way, may end up ling it horizontal
Here is the battery, its dry so i guess not having it sitting upright shouldnt be a problem, right?
