Bro... What ISN'T there to do in Pittsburgh is an shorter answer.
There have a been a TON of new restaurant popping up lately. The Lawrenceville and SouthSide neighborhoods are lousy with food. From street vendors and hot dog joints to high end fancy pants stuff. My food recommendations:

http://www.piperspub.com/
Gooskis (dive bar with the best pirogies in tahn)
https://www.primantibros.com/ (go to the original location in the Strip)
Those are just the tip of the iceberg. You could 20 meals a day amd not eat at the same place twice in the city. Again, there are so many new and upstart eateries it's nuts. It's also one of the best cities around for walking/biking so I'd suggest just wandering and exploring. You'll find something great on every block.
As far as music, you'll be hard pressed to find a better city. Check out places like the Thunderbird (lots of blues and rock) in Lawrenceville, The 31st Street Pub (punk and metal) in the strip, Mr. Smalls (bit of everything) in Millvale and even Stage AE (larger, more popular acts). A good number of the bars have local acta playing almost every night of the week too. The City Paper has great weekly concert listings.
When it comes to shopping the Squirrel Hill, Shadyside, Oakland, Downtown and Lawrenceville sections are full of small locally owned shops. Venture a little outsode of the city and hit up Sewickly as well. Beautiful small town (and a number of the Penguins live there so you may run into Lemiuex or Crosby).
When it comes to old architecture and history, all you need to do is walk out of the hotel and open your eyes. Pittsburgh is one of the most historically significant cities in North America and it's people have a great sense of pride in that fact. Downtown is home to some of the mpst beautiful buildings and civil architecture around. Check out the courthouse, the Theater District and surrounding areas. We have a ridiculous number of museu,s as well. There's the Heinz History Museum in the strip for local and regional things. The Carnegie museum of Art and Natural History in Oakland. The Aviary and Phipps Conservatory. The Science Center is super cool (and has an IMAX theater). The Frank Lloyd Wright masterpiece "Fallingwater" is under an hour from the city as well.
A few really cool touristy things you'll want to do include riding the Incline from Mt Washington to Station Square (where you'll also find a number of shopping amd food destinations), taking a Ducky Boat tour, and catching a show at the gorgeous Benedum Center.
There really is so much to do here it's crazy. I'll get some more info and whatnot together fpr you. The stuff I've mentioned doesn't begin to scratch the surface. If you have any real specific questions, PM me and I'll get ya my number.
