Thanx for sharing. Couldn't make it in the end as my pal became ill. However, over the past 10 years it's become the same old same old ...... These pix prove there is still stuff to see. ! That Metisse kit brings back memories.

My pal bought that exact kit [ including colour ! ] after a payout settlement when he got knocked off his bike and broke several bones. He bought the salvage back [ Bonneville ] from the insurance company and used the engine for the kit.

Some of the small stalls had packed up and left on Saturday such was the awful weather.. high winds and heavy rain. I went on Sunday and the weather was dry and improved through the day. As always there is too much to see in one day, with a long drive there and back and hours walking miles around the place, I was foot soar by the time I headed for home.

I was impressed with the Z1000/CB750/GS1000 frame kits by Maitland Racing, and the new Royal Enfield 650 twins.. felt light to sit on and pretty well finished.

Still need to edit the 2nd part (indoors stuff) but here's the first video I made of the day..

Thanks for the post, it's a page full of wow. The bottom two photos make me want to mortgage the house and have him assemble me his finest steed. His work reminds me of why not everyone is not qualified be cutting and welding frames.

Are the Maitland frames made on the original Pat French and Rickman brothers Metisse jigs or did they start again.

I spoke to the chap on the Maitland stand, he was more into the older stuff, the other chap had gone off to get something to eat at the time. He mentioned that the frames were coped from the dimensions of the Metisse frames.. whether they are exact copies I don't know.

They appear in the video from 13:53 ..

Wow! Thanks for sharing. If the Brits had added a balancer, I believe they would have not shaken the shit out of themselves, knocking everything loose and out of adjustment. I rode my 73 Tiger for the first time in a couple years, the mirror was useless, the power underwhelming. What a time machine!

But it looks and sounds so good and goes almost fast enough to stay out of trouble.

A modern 250, say RGV or CBR250RR (four) both make more power than a race tuned T120 or T140 Bonnie. And they handle better and brake better, but they lack a certain something.

I have 52k miles on the turbo ZX-14 and 43k hard fought miles, on the triumph. 350 hp vs. 40? maybe, the Trumpet is louder than hell, makes car alarms set off. Everything on the Triumph goes out of adjustment according to the temperature, humidity, or if a cloud passes over. Fuel injection is the only way to go, hate, hate carbys. I would love to find stock exhaust for the Triumph, eBay is a no go for that, as well as other sources.
