Now thats going to be a fun bike very well done man ! Now get that motor in ......

very nice work, the lines of that bike look spot on. I bet you can't wait to get a motor it place to ride it! Are you going with a high pipe? It would really suit.

Thanks mate, the engine will be stripped, cleaned, painted and new gaskets fitted this weekend. The covers are already polished so I hope to get the engine back in early next week. I have two weeks off work and should get a big chunk of the build done.

Cheers, I agree that a high pipe would really suit the bike. Unfortunatley I've bought a new original pipe.... but when the build is finished I think I will get a high pipe.

I'm jealous of your roller. I've been waiting for a month for my new swing arm bushings to arrive before I can get there. Looking really good dude.

Thanks Shamus, I'm looking forward to watching your build progress, if the grips are anything to go by, it's going to be a work of art. Did you manage to get that Jade?

I did get the Jade, its tougher to work with than I thought, but I have faith I can make it happen. Thank you for the kind words, I hope the bike lives up to your expectations! Haha.

Got a new white faced rev counter to match my speedo today. Will post pics of it fitted at the weekend.

New rev counter, speedo, headlight and front indicators fitted.

Thanks, but the motor is dirty and can't come out to play until it has had a bath.

looking really good old chap.. frame came out really clean ... congrats.

Cheers Milky, hope your build is going well. My new petrol cap arrived today, I tried cleaning the old one up, but it was just too pitted with rust. The new one is even better than the original as it is made of stainless. $27.30 from ebay - V happy.

hye man.. youre miles ahead of me... so far i have only removed the airbox, seat, back mudguard, and electrics... looks like its gonna be a "winter" project for me.

Cut my front mudguard down today and primed it ready for paint: Didn't realise until I saw this picture that it looks like the Alien. I wasn't going to have a front mudguard on this bike, but If I'm going to be riding it to work over the winter, I'm going to need it. Do you think it spoils the look of the bike? I've drilled new mounting holes and lowered it since this picture was taken. Also I've just ordered this cracking old-style centre mounted tax disc holder, stainless back with chromed brass front.

paint it black and you will hardly notice it. stiffens the forks as well as keeping water off.
