very cool bike! I love looking at these. I just got a SR500 street tracker. Your's is coming along very nice!

Rimmy, Getnjgywitit, Thanks guys. Can't wait to get her complete so I can take her for a spin. Just the carb to strip, clean and rebuild and then the dreaded wiring.

Nice Work Steve. Much improved from stock and the original condition for sure. Good luck on the wiring, shouldn't be too bad on the little single.

Cheers,

Thanks for the great comments guys. There is still a bit of work to be done on the bike, but it is getting there. What I'm most pleased about is that the bike looks like the one I'd always imagined and wanted to own. Surprisingly it took one of my least favourite bikes (the SR250) to provide the base for my build. I wanted to build a bike in it's most basic form, something that could have rolled out of a factory in the 60's. The twin shocks, spoked wheels, drum brakes and the single cylinder, 4 stroke, air cooled engine of the SR250 were perfect. It may not be high tech, or super fast, but it is a fully functional, (and I think) good looking Motorcycle.

Just noticed your photos in the stream and digging it. The bike looks awesome, one hell of a difference from the original so sweet. Wondering however if your rear tire may be mounted in the wrong direction? Tractor style tread is designed to push water and mud away as they roll forward, mounting reversed could cause the opposite. I do not know what the manufacturer recommends for these so I could be wrong just wanted to through it out there.

Hi Autotec, glad you like the bike. As for the tyre, yeah it looks funny, but the arrow is pointing the right way :)

Hi Steve, your bike is looking great, the orange and black really compliments the bike, I saw the battery you had, really nice and minimal, under the seat, excellent choice on the bars, ill post up more pics of mine when I get some time, keep up the god work!
