Hi Steve, your bike is looking great, the orange and black really compliments the bike, I saw the battery you had, really nice and minimal, under the seat, excellent choice on the bars, ill post up more pics of mine when I get some time, keep up the god work!

Cheers mate, I look forward to seeing your pics, I might have to steal some of your ideas :) I've been meaning to lower the front mounts of my tank, seeing your bike has convinced me to get on with it. I want the bike to be flat, front to back.

Yeah its worth it, we just drilled out the mount mushroom things on the frame and dropped them down about an inch or so, that way we didn't have to chop up the tank, also made a spacer block for the back mount by the seat to raise up the tank at the rear, so its almost dead level.

Cheers, I've already got the spacer block sorted, I'll be dropping the front of the tank tomorrow (it's 22:33 here in the UK) and hopefully it will line up nicely with the seat.

If that goes up for bike of the month it would get my vote Steve, nice work. It is a bloody shame they make you put those giant number plates on the back though, I am a bit annoyed by the size they make us wear where I am but yours is almost a bill board.

Cheers for the great comment OnB, as for the number plate, yeah it is a pisser. 9"x7" is the smallest you can get.

Hi, I bought an SR250 same as yours.
My project will be started soon. I would like to restore it same way like you do.
But now i need some document for this bike. I need part cataloge for this bike.
Can you help me?
Thanks a lot.

Hi Mechanic, here you are:

Here is the link to the Manuals and parts cataloge (I printed them off at work and put them in one folder): http://www.sr250exciter.com/tech/tech.html

Also, here is a link to a colour wiring diagram (best to print off in A3) http://www.cmelectronica.com.ar/wiring-diagram/imagenes/yamaha-sr250.jpg

I've been lazy on my day off today, only managed a few small jobs on the bike. Dropped the front of the tank a bit, stencilled the Yamaha logo on my seat and attached the new plate.

Well done with the stencil, that is the sort of detail I really like Steve. Home made but just like one from the shop.

Thanks mate, I was a bit worried about getting it straight as you only get one chance, but it turned out good. The idea is to use several thin dusting coats to build it up.

Got a few little bits for the bike, new air filter, it's small but it needed to be to fit in the space available. New license plate screws to replace the shitty old ones, a Carb repair kit, and a new locking tab for my primary drive sprocket as the old one is worn.
