Been Around the Block
I managed to get myself into this two weeks ago (on my anniversary, no less). Been working on a customers RG500 that's been sitting up forever. I finally got the carbs back together and got it fired, and took a too hasty test ride. We have a little "test" road that runs alongside of the shop that we have all gotten into the bad habit of doing short little test runs with no gear :( Well, something wasn't right in the front brakes and it bit me. Broken collar bone, shoulder, 4 ribs, a collapsed lung, 120 staples in my head and some nasty rash. Wear your gear on even the shortest rides!!!!!!

Sounds pretty traumatic. Glad you pulled through, now keep us posted as you pull yourself together.

The bike didn't really get much damage. The fairings were off, so that was lucky. Bent clip -on and a bent shifter is the worst of it
 
Yep, you fell down alright! Glad to hear yer noggin's still functional... well as functional as it was before! I was pretty worried the first day because of the head damage. Anyway, we're happy that all will be well!
What's the deal with the j-o-b? Everything copacetic there?
 
Chip, thank you so much for checking in. Wow brother, so glad you are still with us. In the first photo is that your blood in the lower left corner? If so, kinda puts it in perspective. That's crazy scary. Best wishes and hope you heal quick

Yeah, that's a big pool of me in the pic :eek: Job is cool, they are paying for all my expences as well :) We have all gotten bad about doing quick little test runs with no gear........unfortunatly I had to get whupped to get our attention again

Chip, glad your back around! We have all taken that "test spin before! To bad someone had to suffer to teach us all a lesson! I told my girl, right after I found out about the spill, that this little accident could have been me, or almost any of my two wheeled companions for that matter. I know I will not be doing that again, thanks to a rather costly example (costly on your part)! Sorry again dude and please let me know if I can do anything for you (like not letting your gas go bad in your tanks ;D) Get kickin soon bro!
 
Right on man, I will be glad to! I don't have a running scoot at the moment :-[ But hopefully soon! When will you be back at GSPS? Let me know and I will stop by to see you one day. By the way, did you get anything for your vintage fridge?
 
I hope to be back at work next week. Haven't gotten anything done with the fridge yet, but when I feel up to sanding I'm going to start getting it ready to paint.
