Tire question for kawi z1000

I'm curious if a 150/80/18 would fit the rear on my kawi? I don't know much about this stuff and still learning. I appreciate any help.

if it is a kawaski 1000 from the 80's, no way, to big

you will have to stay with the stock size tire or maybe one size bigger
it has most to do with the width of the rim

does it have a 16 or 18 inch rear wheel? I personally had a 130 Harley Davidson dunlop 404 on the back of my KZ with a 16". It would about touch the swing-arm. The 18" rear wheel I have now have a 120 on it.

I am not talking about whats safe or not for a certain rim width - not going to start that argument. I am just saying what I personally had on my bike.

the widest the stock chain will clear is about a 130.
With offset sprockets you can get slightly wider in the swingarm, but it's a squeeze.


That's not to say it can't be done, but it's not a bolt on arrangement.

And yes, tire must be the correct size for the rim or things can get unstable...
