76 CB360, Cherry Bomb at Barber's

Re: 360 the Pig

Near catastrophe the other day.

Standing next to her. I hit the start switch on the pig. $5 chinese ebay solenoid STUCK IN. Key off, kill off, still cranking. In all the hurry I pulled the key to open the seat, and my pant leg got caught on the shifter. And into first gear she went. Lunging forward. Luckily I had my hand on the bar as I was pulling the key out. Immediately, grabbed the clutch lever. Caught her and myself. Before she T-boned the 200. Still cranking. I reached down and could not find neutral w the engine spinning. The old lady walked into all this mayhem and took hold the clutch and brake levers. I popped the seat open, grabbed a wrench and pulled the wire off the battery. Just as the battery was running out of juice. dead.

So, no more cheapy crap... I got one of these to replace the shitty solenoid.

Maybe next time you won't forget to wear your leash when riding the jet ski.

Sucks, man. I hope the damage is minimal.

Re: 360 the Pig

Good to hear it worked out.

Yep, get what ya pay for.......

Re: 360 the Pig

Wow. It sounds like you narrowly avoided a scene from one if those "mayhem" insurance ads they run during NFL. In kick starters and Japanese parts we trust.

Re: 360 the Pig

You need to get a permanent camera in garage, fun stuff like that is probably worth money on Comedy Central ;D

tell me, prolly looked like a monkey fuckin a football for a minute there. I got the new solenoid installed a couple hours ago. Hit the switch and both plugs were fouled w gas. ::) LOL. After a quick scrub, spray and dry. They survived. Running great. ;D

Re: 360 the Pig

Been riding the 100 when weather permits. And now procrastinating pulling the new harness out to wrap it up.

I got started on the "permanent" aluminum, old school styled, rear rack to replace the prototype rack on the 360 Pig.

I really like the prototype rack but its time for the real deal.

New rack is 5/16" 6061 aluminum.

Because I am moving the tail light under the rear of the new rack, it needs the giant void (shock travel) hidden.

New rack is upswept behind seat to hide the space.

My buddy Gary did an outstanding job welding it all together.

Planning to Plastidip it black. It was such a pita to get mocked up. It may stay raw for a while. Ugh.

At the same time. Im building a Walnut cabinet to hold the 55 gal aquarium I bought to house my daughters Pygmy Opossum.

My buddy Tim, took down a few Walnut trees and now has a nice pile of rough cut planks drying.

Re: 360 the Pig

Bromz lent a hand and glass blasted the rack for me. Looking like sunny saturday for Plastidip.

They both look great. The stain brought out the grain in the walnut. That's nice wood.

Thanks Tuna. 8) It is load rated...1 - 6 pack, 3 blocks, 20mph. Which by lucky happenstance is the exact distance to the beer store from my driveway.
