Nope, this is the one. Hope she ride the bike often!

Hoping to get her enough ride time in so that in the spring she is able to pick it back up w a renewed sense of relaxation and a bit of confidence. And start off a better rider.

Hoping.

Re: Rachels FIRST RIDE, on "Piglet"

Hey trek, the next time you get the chance, would you please check the rear rack that came with the CL100 for a part number? The style of the Triple-A racks I've seen on eBay match yours very closely, and at least some have a number stamped on one of the flat vertical-support bars. Thanks!

Re: Rachels FIRST RIDE, on "Piglet"

I'm fairly certain it is Triple-A. I've been scouring eBay and they all share that same style. They also all have a five-digit ID, as far as I've seen. Somewhere out there some nut has a stack of dusty Triple-A Accessories product catalogs in their attic. If only I could get hold of one, scan it, and upload it to the web.

Thanks again for reporting back!

Re: CL100 the Piglet

Meat in the freezer. Wife will be pleased & more fun than a Friday at work.

The T/C Triumph Bone Collector Muzzle loader helped me take down a respectable 9pt this morning.

Just a touch wider than his ears.

Re: CL100 the Piglet

I did a welding job in trade for a deer salami . Holy smokes is that good. Just enough spice to be hot but not too much. It's got some cheese in it too.
I'm hoping he needs more work done.

Re: Piglet- 6 to 12v conversion

My daughter (Tuesday) helping w the 6-12v conversion of Piglet.

I do a great job holding the light on the work.

Screwing something up is the first step in the process towards being great at something. Her first lesson using the impact driver. I stepped in to save the day...but not the bolt.

Success.

I was surprised to see the thickness difference between the 12v CB350 stator and the 6v stator.

350 stator didnt have the "thing" on it. This presses the hinge of the tensioner adjustor to keep it in the slipper.
So I had to make one. Not comfy w the idea of trying to weld on the 350 stator, I bolted it up w a funky little flat headed stud kinda bolt I had in the bucket.

So far so good...just need to ensure the wiring doesnt contact anything (moving parts) and get some new bolts for it.

That came out pretty nice 8)

Thanks bro! theres still alot left to do. Making the complete new harness ourselves, adding the sparckmoto R/R, new CB350 coil, a relay to isolate the ignition on its own dedicated circuit and 12v led headlight.

Re: Piglet- 6 to 12v conversion

Cool man, great to see your daughter taking interest in the bike.

Same daughter that had her car fixed?

Re: Piglet- 6 to 12v conversion

I got my 12 volt cl100 together, ran it two blocks and it died. I left the key on while trying to start it and it popped the fuse. And the next, the 6 V coil is now leaking melted wax. It had massive spark though, for a while. I'd go with a resistor next time.
I bought a cheap 12 volt coil for a 185cc Honda but it was for an electronic ignition and wasn't suited for the job with only one wire to the windings. The coil grounds to the frame through the mount.
Next up, I'm going to try a right cb360 coil, it's 12 Volts, for points and matches the stator.

Re: Piglet- 6 to 12v conversion

My 360 stator had a nub that may do the locating job for the cl100's tensioner. I need to check that now that it ran two blocks.
This bike always dies at that distance, even before I got it. I'm wondering if it's fuel related, it only seems to get enough fuel on reserve. The top end is oiling fine so it's probably not siezing up there. That was not unheard of with these engines especially if someone got silicone inside. (like the 750)
I also used the battery number from the yahoo group posts, it's cheap, agm and fits the box standing on it's end with a little tweaking. I can get a pic if you like.

Yes, check that its aligned. Looks like the only thing that holds the adjuster hinge pin in the tensioner. Dont need that popping out at anytime...ever.

Also, sorry to hear about your fried coil. Aargh.

I got a power sonic sealed PS-1250F1. Thinkin it was about $14 free ship. Its about 1/2 deeper than stock. But fit nicely without any mod to the cover or mounts. However, Wont be able to employ the stock rubber tie down strap. Ill try to find something better than the temp cable tie I have on it now.

I got a new CB350 coil. Its 12v 4 ohm. I have a resistor I bought to use w the original 6v coil, but since Im giving this bike away. I figured why not atleast TRY to make it right? I may have to mod the coil mount just a bit. At a glance this new coil looks to be a hair smaller than the original.
