This my 1979 Kawasaki Z400 K4 i started building last year. I bought it from a friend in pieces. He had built it as a CafeRacer:

After a lot of work this my interpretation, I finished it 2 weeks ago. It has nothing to do with the original. Only frame and triple is from the original. Did so much, i can`t list it all - like Honda CB360G fork, Honda CB 450 K frontwheel, Yamaha DT175MX gastank, Yamaha SR500 seat, lot of selfmade stuff.

I see pipe wrap and a heat shield. Seems legit to me.

No need for a fender due to the overall intent of the bike.

I love it.

That front drum/wheel looks killer in all black.

Totally agree. Great looking bike, not like you built it for US. Its YOURS, and it shows. Great build.

Love it, what's the reason for the side pipe on the tank, is it a fuel gauge ? Forgive my ignorance I am new to this motorbike building game

Too bad it has to wear that giant goofy license plate. Everything else looks top notch. I'd roll that bike any day of the week.

As a side note, what happens if something snags the fuel gauge line? Any way of stopping all your gas from spewing out?
