I have down graded. Bought a 2007 Yamaha 225cc Scorpio that has already had a full makeover.
This is how it arrived yesterday.
The previous owner bought a bog Scorpio and gave it to her mechanic and said have at it. He had the tank hand made in Bali out of an old diesel drum. Stripped it right back to as you see it.
Within 1/2 hour of it being here I had taken it for a short ride. Came back and took to it in a small way.
Changed mirrors (These are temp ones), moved the seat back and fitted smaller tail light.
When you buy a bike that has already been customised the challenge is to make it your own.
Accepted the challenge.
Made a small fairing out of some old body work from a Gilera scooter.
Photo shoot time for Rusty. Found an old abandoned Cold Storage plant to shoot at.
Also added a slimmer longer rear guard to keep the water off the air filter.
Took battery out. Fitted a Battery Eliminator. Kick start only now. Starts 2nd kick.
Took the very nice NEW tracker seat off. It will go on my daughter's GS125 build.
Fitted the old ratty chopper seat that has been on my other bikes.
Mounted the number plate so it is more up right.
Ride around to a mates place. Laugh at him while he works on his bike. He fits old seat he has to Rusty. Mates are the best. That's 4 seats so far on and off Rusty. Fetish for seats?
Yesterday I fitted wider tracker bars and 50 year old Gilera hand grips. Like wide bars for better control in corners.
