They can make a fair bit.  I've mounted mine up inside the tail on an alloy plate with air all around it.

Lithium batteries work well.   Get the reg/rec out of the pan and mount it underside of the tray in the air.

Looking good, I'm a bit of a stickler for wiring, even if you can't see it so would be nice to tidy and simplify it all.. also move the rectifier!
