Hey, my name is Tore, im 15 and from Noway and thats why my english is some what poor :
I am currently restoring a Honda Super Cub C100, it has been produced over 60 million cubs, but only a 100 made it to Norway from 1966-1968 , they where leftovers from the sale in japan, they had to be modyfied to fit the norwegian laws, this included restricting them to 2,5 Hp and switching to a singel seat instead of a long seat due to you are not allowed to drive 2 on a moped in Norway, and for some reason they removed the blinkers/ or at lest they did not come with blinkers , today i have found 7 of the cubs in Norway, so i would guess most of them are sitting in a barn some place but anyways here is mine :
before i started:
next to the ural
it was in pretty poor condition and did not start, when i got it it did not start and it havent been used since the 80's ish
raised it up to drop the engine
5 minuted later
then i started looking for errors on the engine, ignition seemed fine but i removed the flywheel anyways
and smart me stuck a screwdriwer in the plug hole to prevent the engine from turning over when i was removing the flywheel
removed the head/cylinder
its in need for a new piston
a valve/head clean would not harm
litlle overview
stared dissasembeling the head for a clean
clean valves!
hmm im gonna ned a smaler honer ???
cleaned some engine parts
mounting head again
started making my custom exhaust
3"
some more welding
and its done
orginal vs 3"
lated i painted it black...
got my honing tool and honed the cylinder
then i found out that someone had snapped a blot in hte head, maybe therefore it was leaking oil liek hell?
after a little struggle the bolt came out
hmm... carb "gasket"
then i got my gaskets
and new piston + rings
started assembeling again
smart me managed to snap one of the "pinbolts" or whater they are called one of those, i overtigheend it
anfer a little hour in teh workshop a new one is made
then i mounted the head cover and the valve mechanism
adjusted the valves
ready to mount it in the bike
but fore strange reason it would not start?
after about 30 mins of kicking and wondering i found out that the tank was empty :
got my hands on some fuel the next day and it fired straigt up
link to first startup : http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=jzZCcvTcHSk
a week later it stoped took then engine out again and into my room before i found out that the swingwheel was loose :-[
got that fixed, and a couppel of weeks later i decided to take it to our woekshop to sand it down and respray it
arrival at the workshop
made a mount for the exhaust
made myself some stupid handguards ..
after a ride, my hands where good and warm
my cub nad my shadow
started dissmanteling the cub to resspray it
after the first day of dissmanteling
next day
hmm. this is everything the spriocket was hanging from..
