Triumph Bobber

Holy shit is that beautiful... If I had the cash Id be on my way to columbus.

Internal throttle is when the "cable" runs internally on the handle bar. Much cleaner. Very trick.

No front brake is pure show. Looks cool and clean. Thats it.

Columbus Ohio? Thats 14 hrs from me. Damn.

Beautiful. I would love to see it up close.

What's a fair price on that kind of craftsmanship?

I think it comes down to what someone is willing to pay. It is a beautiful looking scoot.
My first question would be about the wiring from the switch. My guess is it was recently re-done and still needs tucked away. Other than that nice attention to detail.

I doesn't appear to have any rear brakes either!?!

Rear brake is in the drive side.

You can get really small front drum brake hubs - no reason to not run a front brake of some form. Any little bit would help. But that is a sweet ride no matter. Very nicely done and worth the $7500 price.

Joe and I have talked about doing fork tubes in powder. I still may try it for the new 350 build. Maybe thats how he did it?

Ya... thats the issue. Slightly boring out the trees would deal with that though, as would running the legs on a lathe.

back from the dead......

There are several plating processes that will yield a glossy smooth black surface. Some wear, some don't...I've got some black nickel and black chrome before though not many shops do that now due to the toxic byproducts. Black zinc plating is much easier to get and should hold up ok so long as your initial polish and post plate polish is good and you keep them slightly lubed with oil. It will wear though.

Black chrome is really the best option for fork tubes, though there is a black titanium process I'm waiting on word from my plater about. I do generally a run of plating a month or so and could probably arrange for black chrome....

i know you can dye chrome on plastic parts...can it be done with metal maybe? I've never tried either, but read a bunch of stuff when trying to figure out what to do with my chrome fender and came across a bunch of RC sites detailing how to dye chrome, but no mention of a metal application.

can you point me to those sites by chance? As far as I know chromium plating is not susceptible to dyes as such, but perhaps they have happened upon something new to try?
