The green ugly, and this is the better side...lol

I've wanted a shop truck for a while.
Found this on the local craigslist.

'73 chevy c10
Has a small block 350, turbo 400 trans and a 12 bolt rear with 4.11s

She doesn't leak, starts when cold perfectly and doesn't have crazy rot.

Here is the plan.
-adjust the steering, or replace box
-replace all suspension bushings
-new shocks
-new front calipers and pads
-replace ball joints and tie rods.
-probably ditch the gears for something more streetable. 3300rpm at 60 is not what I'm looking for

Basically service the crap out of it, but no major "building"

Over the winter I'll lower it, fix some of the rust and maybe swap the motor.
But for now she will just be a mule.

Bonus is the girl likes it, and wants to go the beach with it this weekend, and do some yard sales.

Yup. Looking for some wide steeliness.
Front are stupid 80s wheels, back are narrow steels that are set to far in....with snow tires....

If you're not against spending a couple bucks... Summit Racing has a huge selection of wheels at pretty good prices. Not that Summit is a secret or anything, you're likely aware of this. Haha.

I have $600 in parts from summit waiting to go on the truck now!

I have seen some of the wheels, was also thinking diamond racing steel wheels.
$500 for a set of wheels isn't going to break the bank.

I have a set of Torq Thrust II's I'd let go cheap, if you're interested.
They're 15x7 fronts, and 16x8 rears.

Looks like this on...

For you, because I know that one day you'll let me sit on that CBX and make Vroom Vroom noises...
$250 + shipping sound fair?

Dang! I would say that is cheap. I wish I had a CBX now.

That is cheap.
What do you think shipping to 11776 would run?
Any pictures of the wheels.

Is the deal off if I told you the cbx was in Japan now?

I get most of my larger Roadrunner parts shipped by Greyhound or Fastenal. They seem to be the cheapest.

Uh, Yea! Duh ::)

Nah, I'll still let ya have 'em :p
I had no idea you sold it, but "Shipping plus Airfare" does seem really reasonable :D :p

I can get you some pics of them tomorrow, Gotta pull them out the shed. They're not perfect, but they're not all rashed up either. Could really use a good polishing.
I'll check on the shipping too. I've shipped wheels before and don't remember it being too bad at all. $60.00 or so iirc.

Deviant... Fastenal? They do shipping?

Yes. Just go to a local store to get a quote. A lot of the MOPAR guys I know from a forum use it. Don't forget Greyhound too. I had the entire front grill and valence of my Roadrunner shipped from Oregon to Georgia for like $60.

if you have a student with a student card

grey hound will give up to 25 percent student discount on shipping

So what should have taken a day and an a half is not done four days latter!

The lower control arm bushings were a pain in the butt.
Got it all back together today and found a clogged brake line.....guess that's why the truck pulled under braking....

Kinda funny that the line was $24, but the caliper was $13.

Back at is next week. Should just install the line and be back on the road.

Found that I need to replace the frame to body mount brackets, so that means the body will come off at the end of the season. I'll paint the frame at that point too.

Fuck!!! I forgot about getting you pics of the wheels *facepalm*
I'll pull the wheels out the shed tomorrow... promise ;)
The lines are more expensive because they're replaced more often than the calipers ::)

And when you pull the body/bed, you can replace the bed floor for under $200 with the help of Home Depot and Fastenal ;)
