SouthEast Ohio twisties, Hocking Hills, Zaleski, Wayne Forests, ride there?

Also, the sport bike comment was just a general statement for riding. City riding with my buddy sucks at times because at a light he is gone in a heart beat and that gets old.

Now in super tight turns it's a different ball game and I agree with you on that.

Goldie?! Hot rod that cb750 instead! Better shocks, aftermarket fork springs, cartridge emulators, k&n/4-1/jetted, good sticky tires, up one sprocket tooth in the back or down one in the front, drop the center stand & any unnecessary weight, etc.this is basically all stuff that I did to my bike, and then some. I know on the DOHC CB750's, the cams are VERY TAME, & a swap to the cb900f or better the cb1100 cams are a huge performance gain.

watch the weather forecast for the weekend to see if you will need to request off work or trade shifts for Sunday.

OH-373 near Dean State Forest:

Very tight narrow roads around Tar Hollow, SW of Hocking (beware, some very nice looking twisties on maps are gravel!):

The 750 was a spur of the moment buy because all my others are down and I couldn't wait any longer to ride. Come late fall I'll be dropping some money into the 750 for sure.

The Goldie is just a dream to own an affordable/dependable early boxer :)

I work Friday, Saturday and Sunday so if it's THIS weekend, I'm fucked.

Had a pretty great Hocking ride Sunday afternoon, aside from a friend having mechanical issues on the road. Hope to make it iut again in the next weekend or two.

The awesome switchbacks on Christmas Rock Rd right before the prison at Revenge Rd just got a blacktop sealcoat on top of the pavement, and the awesome switchback is now sssssslliicccckk, be careful. Half of Clear Creek Rd is pretty rough, but still worth it for the scenery & the other half of the road, not to mention linking Revenge Rd into the route.

Took my girlfriend down the back way to show her some of what we rode yesterday.(stole your photo spot!). Just stopped for food on the way back. Excited to take her to see Big pine rd. , probably my new favorite stretch.

Nice! Looks like she was boycotting having her photo taken!

If you really loved the flowing rhythm of Big Pine, you will LOVE the 11-ish miles of ridgetop riding on OH-78 out of Nelsonville, nonstop sweepers & some twisties all up and down on the ridge top. Instead of nice heavily forested riding between the hills along a creek, you have epic views through the trees looking across the land from a very high ridge, & then 70% through, the trees are cleared out & you have panoramic vista views all directions. Stop at the barn (little white 1 story house next to it, vacant last I was there), you'll know it when you come to it. Best view, then great tight twisty curves descending down after that eastbound. Take 78 to 669 at the river (Muskingum River?), follow 669 north then west (good flowing road, 2 yr old pavement) into Somerset(?), and then take either 668(Big rollercoaster hills!) to the freeway, or follow 204 all the way in to Pickerington.

this could make a really nice loop from Reynoldsburg and Pickerington, as you can take 204E to 664S to 33 to Nelsonville, tgen 78E right on 685 L on 13 R on 78... NICE ride, not too technucal for carrying a passenger, but very fun &scenic

Hey I didnt see it mentioned in here but if you come that close to KY you need to ride Rt 32. I used to ride it all the time..It is a very fun and curvy road with lots to see along the way. You can ride it from Louisa to Morehead. Hope this link works..

You are right on boycotting the photo!

I've got some kinks to work out on my bike before I head too far out but that looks like a nice road.

the northwestern tip of West Virginia isn't too far from you, maybe an hour and a half or so to get to the decent back roads? isn't there anything like this in western Pennsylvania?so far I have noticed, no matter where you go with hills, west virginia and surrounding states have the tightest and most plentiful curvy roads

I live in the Falls. There's really nothing exciting due east or west of us (aside from the CVNP, but i'm assuming the rangers don't take kindly to 80mph down there) but for a nice ride, take 21 south to 585 towards Wooster, then 83 south to Millersburg and Coshocton. Rt 93 is nice down there too. Head over to the area south of Dover on 36 from Coshocton and take 250 south to Wheeling, WV. That's a great ride too. You can actually take 250 north all the way to Sandusky from the Ohio border. I'm trying to work out a day trip to Rt 7, it follows the river south along the Ohio/PA and Ohio/WV border. I've driven it by car, it's a little busy and sort-of a highway but it's pretty scenic.

There's lots of fun roads in Ohio, it's just that all of them are in the SE corner lol.

p.s. if you see a lime green KZ750 zipping about town, thats me haha.

93 will take you all the way to KY , me and riding buddy's took it to The Thaw ! Was down are Atwater lake Sunday and there's a few nice roads down there too ! End of September we are heading down around the river for end of the summer ride . If you go down look for Rt 26 and rt 2 just on the other side of the river in WV. I live just on the other side of the summit / stark line so if you see a like green ZX7 , FZ1 and a SV1000 that's us LOL

164 is about the best you'll get that's close to our area. Head south on 77, hit up 30 East. When you get to Lisbon, that's where the fun starts. 164 south. Plenty of twists and turns, hilly in some spots. Take it all the way to 212, and head back up to 77. Good 3 hour drive!

thanks! - if the weather clears up this weekend I am going to do that. Supposed to rain everyday this week but that doesnt mean my bike isnt sitting out in the work parking lot right now.

Heading down to Marietta with my buddys sometime tomorrow for the weekend . So if anyone is out and sees a SV1000,FZ1,ZX7 running around that would be us ! Going to be a good time cant wait .....

Re: SouthEast Ohio twisties and WEST VIRGINIA MOUNTAIN DREAMING

Nice! Hoping I can get out to Hocking & Burr Oak the following weekend... Just got back from a 3 day weekend in West Virginia last weekend, wow... Always a great ride.

I could do US-33 from Harman WV to just over the border into Hinton VA all day long back and forth - about 73 miles of mountain passes, steep banked turns on the eastern-most (&largest) mountain, twisties, hairpins, sweepers, scenic valley rides in between the hills & mountains... Highly recommended to do that & US250 just south of there in VA at the edge of WV... So killer, particularly both 33 & 250 as they cross Shenandoah Mtn on or near the WV/VA border, 2 of the best stretches of road in the entire USA...

After hitting 33 east into VA and taking a route south to 250 just east or Shenandoah Mtn,take 250 over the mountain to a gas station, & turn around & link up to the road that turns into Sugar Grove Rd once up acrossthe WV border, go northbound to Moyer's Gap Rd, explore that west a few miles & turn around to climb Reddish Knob Rd to the peak & down Briery Branch Rd, north on lesser VA roads back to Hinton, VA & back across US33 the opposite direction this time.... Dream ride right there buds... Camp out, explore back roads like cr28/11 to cr2, the 1 lane 2 way stretch of WV72 dry fork rd, the paved road side to Spruce Knob... Tight twisties galore. Take some notes & do those roads the second you get a free weekend. My 3rd time there, wish I could've gone more this year.

Damn - Ive got a contractor in at work so Ill be in saturday for the day. Planned on heading south in the evening on S3 for awhile.
