That's the beauty of the XJ. Versatile and the kits are out there. Plus production ran for 18 years. It's a similar scenario to the Chevy C10s that ran from 73 - 87. My old man was a Chrysler service manager for 35 years. He's owned 4 of them- always the limited with leather interior.

I found the thing on CL. Ad had a picture of half of one side of it, it was dirty as hell. Been sitting under a barn. Ad said "Runs needs work." That was it. It was 11 miles down a dirt road, no cell reception, middle of nowhere. Thought there was a 50/50 shot I might get murdered. Got him to jump it for me, it was rough. Replaced cap, rotor, plugs, wires, and put some synthetic in it earlier. Started right up, idled fine. Took off, it was golden, until I let off the throttle. RPMs dropped until it died. Just got finished putting a new idle control valve in it. Problem solved.

super excited about this one. Sorry for the dark pics. Its a 1999 Buell S3 with factory touring options.
3200 original miles.
Even had Original tires. new metzeler Z6's are on the way.

Picked this up today. 1976 BMW R90/6. Fairly clean and very well maintained, but also pretty well broke in with a good amount of miles. I had an old friend AL that had a 76 r75 who really got me into vintage bikes, and I've wanted an airhead since. I actually found this here in town to boot, just on the side of the road with a for sale sign.

When I used to work for ze Germans, I asked a German buddy if he liked the Hoff. Older fella, would have definitely been aware of his hay-day over there.

His response was "fuck off". So maybe not quite GOD anymore. Lol
 
I sold some garbage at mid o, bought this, been moving dirt around with it.

That thing is rad, i'm quite jealous.

I have a vague memory of my old man "trying out" his buddies one day, it was very brief, grabbed a fist full of throttle and wheelied off into a plowed field.

Looks in good shape too!
