CB 750 Question

I may be purchasing a 1980 CB750C frame. I'm hoping a SOHC engine will fit the DOHC frame. Is this possible without much headache?

The frames are completely different animals, as are the engines. The SOHC engine will fit, yes, but it would take an evil genius with good welding and fabrication skills and damn near an engineering degree to do it. Or, a few of the guys on here who seem to have a knack for doing stuff that shouldn't be possible could do it, but it would still take a lot of calculating for clearances and welding. I'd either stick with the DOHC, or buy a SOHC bike.

It's more effort than it's worth. You're better off looking for a 750 DOHC motor and some cams from a 900 to put in it. There's nothing wrong with that motor as long as you keep the cam chain tensioned.

Look for a motor specifically from a 750C, because the custom had slightly different mounts I believe.
