Salty_Cafe_801

slow and low...
Hello all. Gonna start my build thread now. Need to resto this bike before I can start modding anything. Needs wiring help and a new carb setup then I can ride it, then mod her like it want her.

Currently how she sits at my shop. Pulled apart the harness and found a few burned and corroded wires.

Gonna pull the fenders off today see how I like the setup.

1st get rid of that terrible headlight. I am having Dan from Cws wiring do a custom harness for my 77 kz. Everyone on the kz650 forums swear by his work. Good luck. Carbs are a straight forward to rebuild.

I can envision a nice cafe seat from this pic.

just to need to pull a complete carb setup at the local yard and get a battery then I can fire it up.

Hey man,

Keep pluggin' away at it! I have 2 '78 KZ650B's that are the same colour - or at least were the same colour. One is stock and the other I made into a cafe. My cafe is apart now for some final fit-and-finish touch-ups and a new paint scheme. The KZ's make nice cafe bikes - IMHO, but of course I'm biased!

Good luck and keep the updates coming.

Update:
clubmanbars.jpg

Got my clubman bars. Still need to swap out to a new fuse block. The glass style is totally SOL. Tried hooking up a battery to power everything and got nothing.

slow and steady..... ;D

Small update:
Got the clubmans installed, took off everything I dont like. Gutted the wiring, going to hack this one and make it bare bones.

Also I feel like hack off all the brackets that the seat rested on and installing a fiberglass seat.
