OK, so I'm new to big twins. Don't drop the clutch at 3,000 RPM on a BMW R75

As my 32 year old front wheel popped three feet off the ground , I'm pretty sure everyone at the intersection thought I was gonna die.

Left foot hanging out in the wind, it was a bit of blind luck that I didn't take it right over. Changed my shorts when I got home.

LOL.. Holy Shit!!.. How did you happen to do that??

Well, I was curious just how much torque the bike could make. When I shift into 2nd and 3rd sometimes it feels like there's more than enough power to lift the wheel. So at a red-light by the local school on Friday on my way home from work, I dumped the clutch and gave a bit more gas than normal...

Result was without even thinking about it the wheel lifted, and I don't mean 8 inches off the ground, I mean it popped up to a few feet off the ground and then back down immediately as luckily I was able to roll off the throttle quickly.

My biggest concern was what would happen to the bike if I pulled it right over and dumped off the back. Not pretty.

I did the same thing once on a buddies GSXR 1000.
Wasnt used to the power and did a 2 foot wheelie at a stop light. ::)
