Hello from Houston, TX Sharing my first living room 72' CB175 build.

I think this one was a pretty good barn find, picked it up for a couple hundred completely intact. I mean it was complete as can be down to the tool kit. It only had 1700 miles and was parked in 1974 so I immediately made an offer and took it home and start tearing it completely down and rebuilding with everything new bearings, cables, carb rebuild, fork seals etc.

The only thing I did not touch was the gas tank, which didnt have a single scratch or dent but minimal cleaning of the inside. I will probably get a tail section in the future but i chose to just sit the seat on top for now and avoid having to weld a loop. But the inspiration came from another cb175 "Moxxi"

Hope you guys approve!

lol, next time you do something, lets link up! im in the heights

Right on, I make it down that way every month or so. I frequent Clarke's Hardwoods and love me some Taco's A-Gogo.

Also FWIW, know the build is still in early stages but you'll want to trim those cables back for use with the shorter bars, or have MotionPro make you up a set of shorter cables.

Ahh, thanks for the tip, I was loosing it trying to figure out how I was going to route it.

Its possible to route them carefully to take up the extra slack but IMO you'll be better off trimming them. Or getting a shorter set and keeping the stock length set as spares in case you decided to go with taller bars in the future.

By the way - Are you running those stock mufflers? My girlfriends CB200 needs a set of stock pipes.

Will most likely shorten them. Did not come to mind at all.

As of right now, I will use them until I have someone make me one. I chopped the muffers off, they were rusted through and used some pipe from Home depot and made a make shift muffler.

I can pull them out the trash if you want it before the Trash truck comes today!

I have a set of rusted through ones that need some welding. They looked pretty clean in the pic so thats why I was asking. No worries

I’ll pull them out and save it, it’s only a little bit towards the end on the bottom
