Has anyone used a Teflon or similar polymer washer in place of the copper crush washers for the drain on front forks? I'd like to not screw up the powder coat and wonder if Teflon would make a good seal still for the 6mm drain bolt.
Are you talking about the drain screws on the sides of the fork legs or the damper rod bolt underneath the axle?
If it's the screw, then another washer will be OK but you shouldn't use anything else for the damper bolt as it needs to be torqued tight and the washer needs to be solid.
