1969 CB350 restomod

Been Around the Block
Just finished up this project, and thought I'd share. I found it up in Michigan on ebaymotors.com. It has a clean title, and when I took delivery of it, ran and drove. Being from MI, it had some rust on the frame, and wheels. The tank had a considerable amount of rust inside, but was solid with no pinholes.

The first order of business was removing the rear wheel and swingarm, and rebuilding the swingarm with bronze bushings and new rubber. I had the wheels laying around for a CB360 project, and decided to use them on here for the time being, to get her on the road. They're alloy rims, laced to rebuilt hubs (fresh bearings/new pads).

After getting everything back together, I contemplated fiddling with the stock carburetors, and decided to go with Mikuni VM30s. I purchased them from DCC, and adjusted the jetting and they run great. The throttle cable is from speedmotoco, and is top notch (uses stock right hand switch).

The seat was in fair condition, but decided a new seat cover was in order as it was missing the passenger strap. Siriusconinc has a great selection, and it arrived from Canada in 3 days via Fedex.

Other than that, the motor was degreased, oil changed, valve clearances checked and everything given a once over. Still need to change the front fork oil and it will be good to go. Below are some pictures of the bike along the way.

Very nice. I have a lot of appreciation for restomod on these old bikes. They can look and work better than they did new, and don't have to be butchered to be cool.

Great work.

The only thing I always look twice at is the tail light. Has the same pig ugly bracket that sticks way out, same on my build. I'm going original on mine with the tail light as the only probable exception.
