Ct70 build

Chp racing has a plated bolt kit for the ct. It covers all of the frame bolts and has the correct stampings on the bolt heads if that is what you want but......it's 90 bucks also. Lol. I'm about to start buying parts to finish mine up one micro fische at a time.

Yeah. I see theirs. I'd rather have the Allen key heads. if I was doing a factory restore (which will most likely be my next bike) is consider it.

I haven't pulled the trigger yet on bolts. I'm going to hold off on everything until I get everything back from powder. I need to assess the level of which I'm taking this rebirth. At this point there's nothing being untouched.

This CMS link lists all bolts by diameter and length http://www.cmsnl.com/honda-ct70-trail-70-1977-usa_model7454/partslist/ it will take a little time to write them all down but then you can order stainless Allen head bolts from bolt depot.com. They will come bagged by size. They are fairly reasonable and ship quickly. I replaced every bolt on my cb100/125 build and I think it was about $60 total

Well. A good portion of the parts are back from powder and are currently being held hostage at Mothgils shop haha. Here's the teasers I was given that I will now give to you guys.

Let your daughter pick it.
Just to follow up. My daughter picked out the white. She wants blue grips with lots of blacks and gray. Said I need a plate that says R2D2. I liked it and went with it haha.

The ol YX140. I have only ever heard good things about them, I think most guys run a 26mm on them.

Nice choice, My mates pit bike has one and it has plenty of grunt.

Brodie, did your buddy go from a 22mm to a 26mm by chance? I'm trying to justify the upgrade before I bolt it all together.

Raising her up right. Ha!

Pics of the white and satin. Wrinkle coat is still out for coat. Super happy about the direction.

As the parts sit now...its looking a bit more "storm trooper-ish" to me.

Yeah. It is. Blue gripe though. That's all it needs lol.

I opted to just take my bolts down to Home Depot. For $16 I've replaced everything minus the engine and swing arm bolts.

Reassembly has officially begun.

Holy cow dude...do you even have the tires mounted on the rims yet?

wait...do you even have TIRES OR RIMS yet?

Its gonna look like R2D2 is capable of "Transformer-ing" into a Honda 70.

Seriously though, w a blue stripe...to break up all the black. I bet its really gonna look sharp.

Would be cool to get the trail 70 decals in black and blue.
Hell yeah they would! I'm sticking with year specific though. 78 is the second rarest of all years built :)

No wheels or tires yet. I just realized i forgot to order wheel bearings and new stem bearings.

I've mainly just sat down in the shop today and stared at it. Everything is about to come together real fast. Just painted the shocks black to hold me over until I decide on what I want to do there. I'm in process of cleaning 37 years of dirt and debris off the wire harness.

It's a pretty basic harness haha. Just like the rest of the bike.
