Reach out to swan on here. He knows what you have to put oem honda and what is ok to go aftermarket. Hes restored like 10 400F over the years. He has a couple good threads on here too.

Wow thanks so much bro I will look him up!!!

As I do, I will re-use all the original brass that I can.

So hopefully just replacing the rubber o-rings and gaskets.

Sonic, being the SUPER WONDERFUL DUDE, that he is.

Sent me a link to what looks to be, at first glance. An awesome "cheat sheet" for the carb rebuild. In full color.

Thank you for this, my good man.

I am now sharing the pdf link on my google drive. You can view or download a copy (upper right hand corner viewing page)

Re: A $450, 400 four - The Black Knight..RUNS AND RIDES.

I really wanted to dig into the carbs.

I also got a shit ton of other things that need done. So I let myself get overwhelmed and did NOTHING all day yesterday.

Starting to do the same again this a.m.. Ive decided I HAVE to hit the work bench project.

Otherwise it will never happen. And the Walnut pieces are in the middle of my garage floor. ;)

Re: A $450, 400 four - The Black Knight..RUNS AND RIDES.

OK OK, ::) I had to pull the battery to re-install in Rachels bike. So long as I had tools in my hands.

And this is as far as it goes. Unless I find some tinker time, early mornings before going to work. ;)

Found a good tip on SOHC to use a strap to pull airbox back and away.

These carbs are WAY EASIER to pull off than the 360 carbs. 8)

Re: A $450, 400 four - The Black Knight..RUNS AND RIDES.

They certainly look like they could use a good going over. If you can stomach the 360 carbs, these should be a breeze. I've rebuilt a number of CV carbs now and the 360 was the least fun to do.

Re: A $450, 400 four - The Black Knight..RUNS AND RIDES.

Just stumbled on your latest project. What a jewel you have! Gonna be checking on this one.

I've done so many carbs (bike and car) that I don't envy you the smell . . . :'(
