HELP! Do CB175 +2.00 Pistons/Rings Exist?

Sorry for the late reply
Yep what they said
New rings should have a small/faint marking to define up
If you get a the correct rings you should be able to install them without a ring compressor
I just use my finger nails but I know others use ice block sticks
No metal tools!!!

This is the ring order for a cb 350 but its the same as the 175's

The problem was that the oil ring was not correctly installed and then the engine builder allowed the lower "rail" to pop out of place and just jammed it in which you just know is going to hurt. The failure was 100% human error as far as I can tell from the picture.

That's a quote to live by, it most oftern is.

Any good tips for installing 3piece oil rings?

P.S. Thanks for the advice on my 175~200 build a while back

Yeah incompletely agree. I got a couple hundred bucks back from him after weeks of deliberation. You guys helped a lot on that one. I started a thread just to make sure everyone on here agreed it was installation error. I bought the 1 piece oil ring design for this go around to hopefully eliminate that issue.

Because I can't stand forum posts that are left open, I figure I'll close this one out with this:

As everyone pointed out, 2.00 overbore pistons and rings do not exist. I took the jugs to a machinist who was able to get all of the scoring out with a 1.00 overbore and he fitted new pistons and rings for the bore.

Alls well! Thanks for the help guys.
