Introduction.
Learning my way around this site.
I have almost completed a engine-out rebuild of a 1980 Z650 I have owned and been restoring for many years. Just got to a point, despite some great help from a guy who contacted me on the net, Dave Porter-Smith, I didn't know him. I needed to start something fresh to keep my mind busy busy as I have an inoperable tumour. This bike has been a God-send for me, helps keep me sane on the dark days. Its a great project that I'll cafe, doing all but the machining work. Made a fibreglass bum stop seat pan, very time consuming to get it right. Have three different tanks, so Ill have a different tank every other day.
Im annoyed that the engine that was described as good has cost me a hefty $1200 all up. A USA import i got from Coffs Harbour. Not happy at all. Good bike to work on tho its all new to me.
In due course Ill post some pics. People here have been great helping noobs such as me.
