cb125 fender fitment

74 cb125 with an 80 cb125 front end.

using a 2.75x18 tire on the front, which is the correct size but it's a dualsport so more tread. the 74 fender does not leave enough room... the mounts look identical, are the '80 mounts lower, or is it just the bulkier tire messing up the fit? I was considering making a bracket to lift the fender up an inch, but the full fender doesn't match the curve of the tire and cuts it close on either end. Just looking for suggestions.

If the fender doesn't match the curve of the new tire, and it did match the curve of the stock tire, then your new tire is quite a bit larger than then the stock one, regardless of the stated tire size. This is common among different manufacturers.

New fender, new tire, or new bracket and some delicate fender widening. Those are your options.

Or wait, you could just take it off. That'd be neato.
