Good show man! Video?
No video. When I get the new cables in for the new throttle (it uses 1-into-2 vs the earlier 2-into-2) then I'll get Ash to take some.

I'll bring the GoPro and get a vid here in a couple weeks. Hmmm, Tuesday took it to China last summer...don't know I've seen it since.

Haha. Down to the brass screw and natural rubber grips.

Re: 1977 BMW R100/7 Miles Von Muncher Hellride

Very neat and functional piece. And the conflict free undyed gum rubber grips are just the icing.

Re: 1977 BMW R100/7 Miles Von Muncher Hellride

Don't forget the old school cruise control screw under the bottom.

Re: 1977 BMW R100/7 Miles Von Muncher Hellride

We're on the home stretch. My oil pressure switch leaked like a sieve, so I went on this grand search. Most are a cross reference for a later 60s Beetle, but they're 10 x 1mm, where mine is 12 x 1.5mm. Such is my luck, no one locally carries that switch. About 20 BMW cars since 69 use it too, but with the 10mm and 12mm option. Fortunately, I'm going home for Easter and an AutoZone 7 miles from my mom has the 12mm switch. In the meantime, I threaded a 10mm switch to 8mm and turned down a bolt to be a temporary adapter. I'm just trying to get some miles in to tune it and test it.

On to the seat:

Since I cut an inch out of the subframe, some geometry changed for the seat and side covers. I already did the side covers, but the seat didn't get the treatment until today.

The stock seat is getting narrowed at the tank for a better fit to the frame and to match the tank.

It's looking really good. Are you going to throw some passenger pegs on back?

Nice bud, she is really coming into her own.

Are you planning to sew the new seat cover?

Probably should, eh? Those brackets hang the mufflers, too.

Mrs Irk and one day the little ones will want to ride.

Re: 1977 BMW R100/7 Miles Von Muncher Hellride

There's a seller out of the UK that sells a reproduction seat cover for around $50US. I figured at that price it's worth a try. It's not as good as factory, and lacks the back emblem, but otherwise it's well worth the price. I got the new cover put on last night, then rode it into work for the first time this morning. It still needs paint, but I plan to put plenty of miles on it in the meantime.

Bravo good sir!
A really small fly screen for that headlight would look great IMHO
