Shocks and forks direct swap. Shocks were a little tight squeeze at the top but fitted without modification. Forks are 31 mm same as original. For the forks we swapped the Triple tree over as it give us steering lock and instruments etc. forks fitted original clamps without mod. The bike has done ~2000km without fault as a daily commuter to school. The suspension seems to work a treat with either teenager or adult weight. With the 125 cc it's no power machine but works ok in city traffic. My son is regularly stopped and asked what it is.
Also the shock and forks are a little shorter than the originals that came with the XL. So the bike has a lower street stance now. Even with the smaller wheels the side stand was unmodified.
