I suppose a thread is in order for my winter project. I am starting with this old girl

I plan on replacing the tank with norton manxish looking tank painted eggshell white, building a small seat out of wood and vinyl (sounds ghetto but it will look totally pro, I promise), and house the electronics in/under the hump. If I can do so safely, I want to omit the oil tank and have the area normally filled with electronics/oil tank completely empty.
every inch of wire is being tossed out and I am going to build a much tidier modular cable systemem. I am doing this so I can quickly and easily swap seats + "extra" components so I can go from nearly stock to stripped down cafe' in a matter of minutes, I am sure you guys will appreciate it.

parts I need to source:
-rear shocks (nice pair going on ebay right now, hopefully I will win them)
-upper fork tubes
-new laces for my rims
-every bolt, nut + screw this bike came with, including the engine mount bolts
-something to mount my spedo/tach
-stator cover, condition doesn't matter as long as it isn't heavily dented
extra parts I don't need:
-side panels

I am working on a K8 as well and like 3 or 4 styles of tanks, but need to see how they look on the bike.
