kz750 twin....bratstyle/cafe bastard (strap on sally) phase 1 complete

Re: kz750 twin....brat?... rat?.....pig?....whatever.... (rearsets mocked up)

I really like what you are doing with your bike. I was planning to do the same thing with the belts holding down the tank, thanks for showing how you did it. I wasn't sure what type of tank I was going to use, but after seeing yours I may stick with the stock tank. I can't wait to see what's next.

thanks for the kind words mate.
the belts are now more for the look.....i have properly secured the tank. i drilled a hole on the tongue of the tank, a bolt goes through that and is solidly mounted...
i will leave the belts there though

are u building a 7fiddy twin too???
send us a link!
peace

Re: kz750 twin....brat?... rat?.....pig?....whatever.... 85% done

did abit of slow work easy work on it today (broken finger)

took the tank in to a radiator guy, getting one of the bungs re wlded...it cracked due to me abusing it...ha.
im also getting them to do a full clean and flush to the tank.....then they're going to line it with red kote.

i also took the front axle up to get the thread cut another 35mm into it... and take 1.75mm off each side of the left spacer....
heres the hybrid axle me n my mate made

Re: kz750 twin....brat?... rat?.....pig?....whatever.... (rearsets mocked up)

Some cool stuff. I have a 79 750 twin. I'm slowly collecting parts before I begin my build. I like to ride as much as possible.

Re: kz750 twin....brat?... rat?.....pig?.... you decide

love the rearsets. I keep considering them for my build, but with my Renthal bars, I think I may just keep the mids.

definately!

i wish i could get the look i want with drag or tracker bars..... the clip ons add to the slammed front end....the whole rearset thing would have been easier avoided.....
to be honest i much prefer the riding position of mids with tracker bars (like yours)....
i now have to relocate my sidestand....when its up it interferes with the gear lever...
dayum...

Ah, so that's how I'm going to do my seat. Thanks!

Re: kz750 twin....brat?... rat?.....pig?.... you decide

I'm jealous of this bike's awesomeness, but think it would look better with an 18" rear wheel. It might keep that level look that's so impressive in that photo, but without the need to have the rear on a stand to achieve it.

hahaha
i have been thinking this ever since the photo was taken....
i am going to look for an 18 of the same style soon.....
if its a disc wheel it means heaps more work....plus i dont know if my swingarm is shorter for the 16 wheel, so i dont know if it will even fit? maybe you could measure your swingarm length so i can check it vs mine???

it would also fill the gap between the rear guard and tyre.....

he we go again......
i just wanna take this sucker for a ride!!

The build is looking great Sinbad! Had a quick question about your rear shock choice, what kind are they?....since I am new to this new addicting game...

Thanks for the help!
