Thanks.
Yes they turned out really nice.

Got some nice parts for the 35mm Marzocchi fork from Ben @classicandvintagesuspension.co.uk

looking good and also well done on being allowed to have motorcycles inside the house, i'm barely allowed to have brand new parts in any area that is tiled, carpeted or floorboarded (unless i don't tell her of course)
on the other hand i used to know a guy who lived on his own who had a house full of old brit bikes and the place was filthy, smelly and dangerous so maybe not surprising he was on his own , and after he'd ripped off the required amount of mates he was truly on his own ( yes, scabba i'm looking at you , dodgy little bastard, using second hand bearings and pistons to 'rebuild' an engine is not the way to go)

My house, so I do as I want. Also why the bikes are in the hallway is because the garage is filled with a car. Well actually a car in pieces and a complete workshop with tig, mig, gas welder, plasma cutter, sheet metal break, pipe bender, blasting cabinet and the body and the old frame are hanging from the ceiling. One assembled frame on the floor and one frame hanging from the wall. So not so much space left. I'm also doing welding, grinding and sheetmetal work in the garage so it's extremely dirty. Then there is the metal workshop which is too small to fit a bike in. This is where the milling machine, drillpress and the lathe are and lots of tools are.
So the hallway is the perfect place.

So anyway, fixed one of the brake calipers. Two parts was missing from kit for the other caliper so it has to wait until I get some new ones.

L.O.T.U.S - Lots Of Trouble Usually Serious
Great project. Looks like you need a bigger garage. Love the Ducati too

Thanks. Yes its a great project. It's going slow at the moment. It's been in the family since 1986. It's been driven alot. But I finally realized it needed to be restord.

Well back to the Ducati.
All the aluminium parts are heavily oxidized so I'm doing some glas bead blasting. Here are a before and after picture of the speedo drive.

Yes. Alot of measuring. 18 hours to weld one up.
But it was a nice project.
One frame was made for a friend but he gave up with his car so I'm stuck with an extra frame.
Maybe I will use it for a race car I'm collecting parts for.
But first some personal things need to be solved.

New parts picked up. Packed in strange pizza boxes.

A month ago when I went through the front calipers two parts was missing from the one of the repair kits. So new part was ordered.
Yesterday I got a box filled with new parts. :)
Also I changed my mind as I had cheated with the one caliper I did. The pistons was a bit pitted, not too much, but enough to be annoying. So decided to correct it.
New pistons for the calipers was ordered too.
Fun fact, 2 new pistons weighs 47grams, 2 old 132grams. Saving 85grams per caliper.
Soon I have to change tread from restorations to cafe racer ;D

One carb done, one to go.
Both where completely stuck and I have been soaking them in degreaser for weeks. Then they have been in the ultrasonic cleaner for a long time. Soon both are done with new gaskets and seals.

Minor hickup on the wheels so you have to wait for an update on them. However I promise the end result is going to be good.
Both carburetors are done.

So todays job was to make a engine stand.
Pretty pleased with the result.
Next up will be to pull the engine apart.

Thanks Crazy. I never seen one in sweden.
I hope I will have the plesure to ride it sometime in the future.

Today I removed the head and cylinder.
I think this is going to be an expensive engine rebuild.

At some point someone got the camshafts out of synk. I found a valve imprint in the left piston.
It's just a small one.
Hopefully the conrods and crank survived.
Rockers doesn't look to happy. Some pitting in the chrome, but cam shafts look okay.
"It's like a box of chocolates. You never know what you might get"

Also one spark plug thread is not looking to healthy.
Other than that it looks good. Nothing really broken yet.
I'm looking forward to open the crankcase.
