BMW R90/6 Cafe

Looking great.

One piece of constructive criticism, though. I would add a small radius where the vertical mount meets the fender. With the vibration of the road the hard 90 degree cut that you have now will become a stress fracture spot.

Keep up the great work, man!

Oh yeah, it’s not done. This is just initial fit up. I also need to fix that little step on the edge, and clean up all the other corners. As well as maybe adding some other relief cuts/holes for aesthetics.

Thanks!

Ha, I should have known based on your other work that it would be addressed.

Keep on keeping on!

No worries. And you’re completely correct. Sometimes when working on something it takes me hours to notice a mistake, when a fresh set of eyes sees it immediately. People on this forum have beat me to it plenty of times. I just happen to be on top of it this time.

Putting a radius on corners is something I pretty much always do, especially with aluminum. Even if not for function, I feel that it just makes a more professional finished part. Even if it’s just taking the point off the corner, I think it helps.

I was playing around and snapped a few pics in the shop yesterday. The monster is for sale if anyone is interested!

Front fender and mounts are ready to roll. Here’s a quick video, I’ll get some decent pictures tomorrow.

Nice, I like the RR hiding spot. Wasn't sure about the fender brackets but they look good now that they're finished.

Thanks man. Yeah it should keep the RR protected, but still in the wind.

I try to avoid posting pics of parts before their finished, but at the same time I think some people like seeing things come together.
