Can I use 33mm cl360 preload adjusters on a cl350?

My fork top caps are rusted and need replacing, and I noticed that the 350F, the cb/cl360, and the cl350 all use the same part number for the cap, 90123317700. So if all 3 models used the same fork caps, does it stand to reason that any fork cap upgrade that can be done to a cb400f or cb/cl360 can also be made to a cl350?

I ask because if the above is correct, I can order the TTR preload adjusters for 33mm forks and gain control over my front preload settings. TTR does not list the cl350 as a possible recipient, but cb/cl360 and cb400f are.

Can anyone confirm I'm on the right track here?

Depending on the year, the fork internals and top bolt function on a CB360 is different then the CB/CL350. the CB360 top bolt is just a threaded plug, the spring pushes against it.

On some of the 350s, the top bolt is a retainer for the damping rod....so it has a totally different function...The others I see appear to be a smaller diameter and longer than the CB360.

A CL350K3 has this fork cap part number: BOLT, FR. FORK 90123-292-780

If the part number is different, it is most likely not to work....

Get a later set of CB360 forks.....they will work. I recently bought 2 new caps for mine....as mine were rusty also.

So just in case this makes a difference whether its a K3 or K4, my bike is a 73 CL350 K4.... I just had a 75 cl360 pair of forks delivered from fleaBAY and will tear into them soon to verify that matching the uppers to the lowers is a go.
