Hello,

New member here from Pittsburgh PA. Recently picked up an '81 Suzuki GS850G. this is my first bike build. Planning to go the cafe route. Looking forward to swapping some good feedback and advise.

So far I have removed the fairing and bags, installed dynojet stage 3 jetkit and K&N Filters, transplanted turn signals and tach cable from parts bike. More to come as bank account allows.

Bikes that I have been looking at for ideas include the following:

Nice shape GS! Mine was way rougher but chopped and hacked most of the bike away! I really love the shaft drive loo, its so clean. Originally pondered a mono shock too. Mine below.

nice looking bike, I also have a 850 suzuki. I have thought about adding pod filters and upping the jets on the carbs. How did that fair for you?

The dynojet stage 3 kit was a pretty straight forward installation. The bike started, no problem but I havnt had it on the road due to a lack of any working lights and old plugs and pads. Ill update when I get it out there.

The beginning of my custom fiberglass seat. 3M adhesive and floral dry foam. I will likely shorten it to the same length as the frame. Final adjustments and sanding tomorrow. Then comes the fiberglass. Updates to come as I progress.
