1980 Yamaha SR250 - A Tracker named Mexico

Yeah, the size of the plate is a bit of a pisser, but you get used to it. And yeah you can add text to the bottom.

Hi -
Found your bike on this page, http://dailyreferendum.blogspot.com/2013/01/my-1980-yamaha-sr250-build-nearly.html
and literally joined this site JUST to read the entire build story.
It's amazing, and so well done.
I just found an SR250 in the want ads locally: http://images.craigslist.org/00A0A_f8gXm4WFpOc_600x450.jpg and hope I can do 1/4 of what you did to yours to this one.

My biggest question is - can you explain a little bit about seat fitment? I've always wondered about how people fit cafe-style seats to existing bikes. Does it bolt on, is it hinged like a normal seat, how exactly do you measure or choose which one to buy?

Thanks in advance, and FANTASTIC job!

Damn Steve- every time I see a shot of your bike I'm amazed at how clean you got it.

How do you like the size you cut your front fender to? Do you feel it does its job well enough in the rain?

Hey Steve- got another question for you too. What ratio did you get for that little speedo? My big grandfather clock of a speedo busted today, so I'm looking for something trim like yours. These ratios are a little out of my expertise to say the least though...

Thanks brother-
