First of all, I just want to say thanks to all you guys for contributing amazing pics to this thread! :) Thank you!
I've been very absent with my own submissions due to personal things, but it's time to post some pics I guess....

Here's a mental car I found online a few weeks back.. I have no idea what it is.. but it appears to have 2 monster v8's in it.. with blowers! Me wants a ride in that thing!!! 8) Falls under Bizarre & Awesome categories ;)

Thats the twin mill, it was originally a hot wheels car back in the 60's and the made a real car out of it a few years back. the had the build on a show on discovery or tlc don't remember which. That thing is pretty bad ass though.

whoa, reduce revs from 100rpm to 90rpm and power drops by ~46,000hp! holy shit! I also think its interesting that they are (relatively) small bore/long stroke motors.

First saw that couple of years ago, never get old though.
It is the most fuel efficient internal combustion engine made.
HP isn't the whole story, it makes over mililion ft/lbs torque if I remember right (don't forget, HP doesn't 'overtake' torque until 5,400rpm)
3x8 makes it a very under square, long stroke motor

I don't know if it's still that way, but I remember being on a ferry when I was a kid and seeing the con rods swing round as the engine ran. I have no idea if that was so they could be manually oiled or it was a cooling thing or if that's common. Impressed the shit out me though watching the rods slowly swing around as the engine did its thing pushing the boat along.

There's an apple farm near me that presses their own cider. They've been in operation since 1913 and have been using the same engine (for pressing) the entire time. Not sure exactly what it is, but it's a huge single cylinder monstrosity probably running at 120 RPM or so. It's water cooled, but it's an open system. They just dump in another bucket of water when the engine has boiled too much off. Also, they start it by hand by having two guys grab the huge flywheel and give it a spin. Pretty awesome stuff.

I remember a school trip when I was a kid. (8~10 yrs old)
Boat from Southampton to Isle of Wight.
Only thing I remember about it was watching motor parts, they had viewing windows to engine room.
No idea why we were going to IOW , school must have has some reason? ;D
