Ural 2WD project

Stripped differential as well. Welded block, remilled, turned and refaced surfaces where was needed, new bearings, studs another bits and ready to fit! In the future will make one more gear to block the wheels when needed.

Ok here goes more:
I found pneumatic shock absorber from a truck/wan or whatever and fitted on sidecar. The reason is when you riding around corners with tons of beer or a fat santa somewhere in country roads your @ss absorbing more than a original shocks. Now you can adjust sidecar and let it fly on lumpy road :)

This will be the most interesting part: The glory engine! It took a bit time finding all useful information and specs about original engine, common problems and modifications. All i got just a block, crankshaft and couple other bits. Loads of part been fitted from different models and even cars.

First what i did was all bearing holes alignment. Also instead of original camshaft sliding bearing I put needle roller. This gave me less camshaft friction, less play and better lubrication.

Also lightened couple gears. Less weight - more power! When you looking at similar URAL and BMW parts you can see that Russians had a rule: if in doubt - leave more metal. Everywhere. So Im trying to count every gram on this engine.

Made new improved crankshaft. Used old russian KMZ K750 as a donor. And finally got a bit bigger stroke with better lubrication and bearings! After tons of beer and calculations finally I got desirable numbers. Instead of original 650 cc Im planning to have 830cc with better compression ratio (around 9.7)
