For many years I was involved in building American V8 engines for road and race .............. I used to leave the lifters soaking overnight before assembly in the relevant oil. Of course most hi-po applications used solid or roller lifter cams.
Yes I've got separate wiring circuits / switches planned for both pumps [ NOS and carb ] - timely reminder.
