Is it stock switch?
You may have a grounding switch (power goes in and circuit is open when running, goes to ground when off) and need a 'through' switch (power goes in on one side and comes out on other to coils)
Electronic ign (DOHC)and points (SOHC) are different and don't interchange

No not stock switch , from a aprilia milie , wires are yellow/red - starter , blue/grey - kill , 2 green/red wires - ground .

You need wiring for original switch and multi meter to figure out which way kill switch is wired.
You can make it work without blowing fuses but, may need to be 'OFF' to run and 'ON' to stop (good extra anti-theft device ;) )
Did a CB750 SOHC like that about 1980 8)

I have the original switch will see how its wired up , I dont mind if off is on and on is off as long as it works. Cooky ;)
