PE175 VMX
« on: May 05, 2015, 10:35:42 »
So I have been absent from dtt for a little while due to some cash flow problems but as this new thread will show I think you will understand why.

This guy just got engaged and he did it the only way he knew how. By buying her a bike and writing on it.

This thread  dedicated to the mild resurrection of this old girl for my beautiful girl.

Purchased as a bit of a wreak for $300 AUS. Not running.

After a lot of cleaning and carb clean out I got her running and rideable she flew down my street but I found out the brakes where shot rear suspension blown and levers throttle sticking.

So I have got her the following.

Plastics kit

Bars and levers throttle grips

New shocks as of two days ago

And I think she is coming along nicely.

New seat cover foam etc will be ordered in a month or so as the old one was pitted and destroyed.

I am glad to be back and happy to share some dtt love with you guys.

Cool project! You should definitely keep the text (or some variation of it) on the final product.

Do you have a project or a project with no time/money?  :D

Butchered the old seat for the mounts today. Was going to potrivert them to the new base also acquired any thoughts as to how else I mount them? The front stop I was going to weld some bolts to a plate then put them threw the seat base perhaps even do that for the rear mounts.

New base

Mounts front ones the big one two smaller ones the rear.

Butchered old pan.

Find someone making boats or surfboards, they will have the oversize pop rivets you need (rather than buy 100~ just for 4~5)
