Re: 72- CL100 - Going OFFFF THE GRID - Piglet 2.0

Watching Jaxon all day, couldn't do anything but 'play' on computer in between keeping him amused and out of trouble so noticed stuff I hadn't seen before. ;D

Seemed appropriate.

Re: 72- CL100 - Going OFFFF THE GRID - Piglet 2.0

The throttle cable I had cut wrong was driving me nuts.

Got another OEM 1980 CM200 cable off ebay.

Sheath was about an inch short. So, how do I add an inch of sheath?

I had a piece of small copper tube, 1/4 & 3/8 inch shrink tube.

As luck would have it...the barrel just fits through the copper tube. 8)

Fit the tube w 2 layers of 1/4 and a single layer of 3/8 shrink tube.

Lubed up the cable and its working smooth w all the adjustment still in it.

Re: 72- CL100 - Going OFFFF THE GRID - Piglet 2.0

You need a teflon liner inside of that copper tube. I'm not sure the copper is soft enough. If this doesn't keep you happy, there are a lot of kits on the go kart market to make an entire cable.

Thanks bud, I saw the new cable had a liner when I was busy cutting it the wrong length. :p

I was to the point this morning I just didn't care. ;). But, it is full of lube. I was like "May last a while...Maybe not. Wont worry about it til it breaks."

I got another new cable coming to put on the shelf.

That will last a few years of abuse ;)
I've got a couple of steel ones from ATV cables if you think you need one?
BTW, I've been telling several CB360 'newbies' to contact you as you (hopefully) have all the information in one place rather than chase all over the Internet ;D

I've found that the more year I accumulate, the shorter period they tend to occupy.

Yep, seems like only 5 minutes ago I was 50, I'm 61 in 9 days :(

Re: 72- CL100 - Going OFFFF THE GRID - Piglet 2.0

Picked up some kind of fender on ebay.
Fabbed up a home spun bracket for the install.

Looked like it would stop a bunch of air flow around the engine. Cut louvres.

Installed an old fork brace, routed cables, gators on, things painted and installed.

So front end is finished. Start on case savers and bash pan.

Thanks bro! I have every intention of testing her limits.

But Im up in the air on clutch discs.

It doesn't slip now. 46yo w 4100mi.

Should I keep the originals? Risking my long weekend ride time in the mountains...

OR, go ahead and install the new ones now?

Im planning to pack the new ones along if I keep the originals installed. I could change em out if I smoke the old ones.

Plates are probably fine, it's always the springs that go particularly since they have been compressed for 40+yrs
