first time electric. help needed

hey guys.

im trying to make my own code system using dashboard switches for my bike. (mad max inspired) 8)
and somebody told me i could use somekind of box so that i could set a certain order in the code but i cant remember what it was called.

does anyone here know of such a thing?

You can buy switches that are normally opened (N/O) and ones that are normally closed (N/C) (and some with both but thats beside the point). Use a combination of these and you will get a "code".

For example if you five switches and go N/O N/C N/C N/O N/C and wire through them all you would need to have the switched up down down up down to complete the circuit. Wire your kill switch through them, triple check your connections and presto a code.

ive bought 5x On/off/On switches but what ive heard was that i could make it so i would fx:

hit the far left, then i would need to hit the middle, far right and so on.
making an actual "pattern" or order i would need to follow.

Aaaa yeah that is a bit more difficult...
