Help identifying my new Kawasaki~!

Hello DOT! I'm very excited to chat and post up my progress in here, and to meet fellow Cafe / Kawi fans.
I'm writing a book on the adventures of learning to ride & find freedom on a motorcycle. wfossett.com/ridetale if you're interested in keeping up via the blog.

I purchased a used bike from a complete moron nice guy, who had no idea what he had. So now I kind of have no idea what I have. Obviously, there's no easy VIN decoder for motorcycles from the 80's but I'm wondering if maybe you fine folk would know. Everywhere I look I've seen two different names for what I assume my motorcycle is.
KZ 750 G
or
KZ 750 LTD II
and time is of the essence. I need a stator (the nice man who sold it to me played me like a fool and wove a fallacy about why his battery wasn't charging). But I am running into some blocks while searching for a Stator, as I don't know what to call my bike. I've searched for the entire line-up offered in 1980 from Kawasaki, and I don't even see a 750 on that list. I purchased a Stator from FortNine.ca but called prior to it being shipped, and they were like "yeah ... nah. This part won't fit your bike" which is frustrating.

If anyone can offer any help, or links to an older VIN decoder... I'd be so grateful.
