Hey Guys I have a 1975 CB400f. Just picked it up from a buddy. Been sitting in his garage for 27 years. Its in pretty good shape. but gonna need a lot of work. I have been researching a ton of stuff to get me started on the project. I came across a guy selling a complete 1974 CB550 front end. It looks way better than my front end and could save me a tom of work and money. It is a complete front end, wheel, forks, brakes, gauges, the works. from what I gather it would save a bunch of time and effort to do the swap. My question is, can I make the swap without to much mods??? Maybe bearings or ???? The pic is when I picked up the bike and my friends!

The 400f and the 550's use the same steering head bearings so in theory it should bolt straight on. I suspect the 550 forks are slightly longer, but you can slip them through the clamps to compensate if necessary. They are also 35mm forks compared to 33mm on the 400f.
