So fresh and so clean clean. As much as I dig what you're doing with this 360, where can we go check out your Willy's builds?! They've been on my mind for a few months for some reason

It was a lot of fun to build and is fun to ride around the pasture and backroads. If you do one of these right, it is very expensive. The problem is most of these have been rode hard and put up wet for 70 years and everything on them is worn out.

Here is my 48 build thread. https://www.thecj2apage.com/forums/48-cj2a_topic27940_page1.html

I built a 52 M38 several years ago but I dont have anything on the internet for that one.

No major updates. I did do a light polish on the fork lowers and got the forks rebuilt. After I put the forks back on I just had to put the wheel and old seat on just to get a feel for it.

After nearly a year in the corner of the shop I drug the bike out a few weeks ago. Frame hoop is in and the fender is chopped . Let me know what you think.

I've popped the bottom case off and replaced the kickstart shaft. Getting close to putting it back in and seeing how well it runs.

It's great for sliding around on dirt and gravel roads but 'semi - serious ' off road is hard work. It will go places it really shouldn't, I used almost exactly same set up on my '390 ' 30 yrs ago

The 360 is going together nicely. Really like the Willys. In 1992 I had a complete factory NOS motor and transmission for a CJ2 in a vacuum sealed container. I went to an auction at Red River Depot in Texarkana and bought a "lot". It included several sets of front and rear assemblies and a bunch of exhaust and electrical parts. Also one windshield frame with new glass. I could never find a repairable body or frame and ended up trading all of it for a 65 Ford F100 project.

Too bad you dont still have the NOS engine. It would be worth a small fortune! My first Willys was a 52 M38 that was owned by the city of Texarkana. I always figured it came from the Red River Depot originally. I grew up south of Magnolia, AR and was only an hour from Texarkana.

Small world! I was living in Camden when I had the Willys parts! Lots of old stuff was still at Red River back then. I was working in Little Rock until a few years ago and found a CL360 in Ozark.

So my buddy calls this evening and says he is coming over. He pulls up with this gem straight out 1981. (Last tag date) he said he liked what I was doing with mine so he was going to do one similar. I'm not real sure how anyone rode the thing as far forward as the seat put you. Engine looks pretty clean and it supposedly runs if you spray gas through the carb. Should be a good platform to start with.
