Inverted forks, dual disc, while keeping spoked rims? On a budget?

2Stroke

5 months a year I'm fast, the other 7 I'm cold!
Was having a conversation about putting inverted forks off of GSXR's or R6's on 70's CB's and the idea of having that with dual discs is a great idea, but seems like anyone who has done this has opted to go with the late model none spoke rims to match the front end, is there a way to get the front end you want and keep the spoked rims and do it without breaking the bank?

I absolutely love Squirley's builds.

They look good no doubt, but custom milling hubs is not my idea of "budget" o well ill probably just stay with my stock front end, my build is going to be a city beater that I wont care if it sits in the rain when I ride it to work anyway.

You should be able to do some bearing swaps / stepped spacers to make whatever spoked wheels you want fit the GSXR front axle. Then it's just about fitting the brake rotor to the hub with the necessary spacer to get it out to meet the caliper.

You don't need custom hubs or anything like that. Take some measurements and see what's needed. You can space the caliper 'in' off the fork as well, to meet the rotor in the middle somewhere and not have too thick a spacer on either the hub or caliper.

Lots of modern 6-bolt brake rotors (Ducati, Yamaha etc.) bolt right onto the Honda CB front hubs. I'm using them on my SR500 project. These are FZR1000 rotors getting bolted onto CB750 front hubs laced to 19" vintage dirt track rims. There is a very thick spacer to carry the sprocket, which also has a 3rd bearing in it. A friend has a lathe :)

Honda hubs are difficult to find bearings for. I put ones in that have a 20mm ID, and then am using 'step spacers' to take them down to the 17mm Yamaha front and rear axle size. Very common thing to do on flat trackers - you can buy stepped spacers online for $22 a pair - http://www.cheneyengineering.com/FWheel.shtml
