Did it a few times on the GS550 I had. Not for me.

Thats why I now have 6 single cylinder bikes.

One of the main reasons I sold my CB550 and got the BMW. Then the XS650, then the SR500 and KLR650.

I guess the logical next step for me is a Zero ;)

Sold the CB750F today! No more of this specific problem for me as I plan to stay with GL1000s for my four cylinder fix. They are actually a LOT easier to remove/install the carbs on.

Reminds me of the procedure a buddy of mine told me when I was replacing inner taillight bulbs on the '85 Corvette.
He said..."The recommended way is to remove the license plate and reach in from there. So the first thing you want to do is get a razorblade, and just slice up your hand and arm. That way you won't have to worry about it when it happens later...".

Ever since, that's been the running joke with knucklebuster jobs... "First thing you want to do is..." ;D

The more modern it gets, the worse it is to service. Just starting the valve adjusting, remove the cams, swap the shims. I can do a complete top end on the Triumph in less than half the time it takes to do the valve adjust on a modern 4.
